In a world of hype, Wibra lacked something crucial: trust. While Action dominated social feeds and discount culture, Wibra had quietly transformed. New stores, new experience, new vibe. There was just one tiny problem: no one noticed.
With fewer physical stores and without the firepower of big media budgets, Wibra faced a double challenge: reconsideration and rediscovery. We couldn’t outspend the category, so, we had to ‘outconnect’ it. Could we rely on traditional influencer marketing? Not really. Sure, it could buy visibility, but not credibility. And that’s exactly what Wibra needed the most.
Behavioural psychology shows that familiarity drives preference. The Mere Exposure Effect explains why repeated exposure builds trust. But when budgets and reach are limited, persuasion doesn’t scale through impressions. It spreads through people.
Instead of fighting for attention in crowded feeds, we made Wibra familiar again through everyday repetition: real conversations, real recommendations, real moments. Because repetition works best when it comes from someone you trust. A conversation beats a campaign. A recommendation beats reach. Traditional influencer marketing could show Wibra exists, but not that it has changed.
The strongest ‘wow’ doesn’t happen on a screen. It happens offline, when someone you trust says: ‘You should really check out Wibra again.’ Those people already existed. They just weren’t called influencers. Yet.
Wibra didn’t need loud, artificial voices. It needed real ones: the voices of real fans. So, we brought true fans together in an exclusive brand community: the Wibsters. No campaign. No scripted content. No paid posts.
This is what they got instead:
You don’t recognise real influencers by their followers, you recognise them by who listens to them.
We recruited the community openly through Wibra’s social channels. We counted on 20 real fans, perhaps 30, in the most optimistic predictions. But we received 20 times more: over 800 fans knocked on our door.
Selected fans (yes, all of them) received a personalised, AI-generated video, delivered straight to their DMs, inviting them to join the private Wibsters WhatsApp group. Everything was voluntary, yet highly engaged. Wibsters were insiders, not amplifiers. They got first looks, honest conversations and an open line back to the brand.
Our approach was rewarded:
Real influence, spread naturally.
Most importantly: Wibra didn’t just re-enter the conversation, it re-entered people’s lives.
On top of that, we also brought the real Wibra experience to life offline, with an exclusive event for our Wibsters. Here, they could discover the latest Wibra products and launches and share their authentic Wibra experiences with one another.
We didn’t buy reach, we built trust. We didn’t push content, we gave ownership. We didn’t hire influencers, we let them emerge. The Wibsters proved it: the future of influence isn’t louder, bolder or more expensive. It’s real and above all more human.
