In France, Madame Loïk is a popular name: the airy cheese spread is regularly on the table of many of our southern neighbors. With us, on the other hand, Madame Loïk is less known. Could we launch their Belgian social media accounts? Of course, we know a thing to two about cheese!
At Madame Loïk, they saw it simply: "We give our existing images and you can then work with them." But it wasn't that simple. In fact, the Belgian range does not fully correspond to the French one. So some photos were unusable and of some products there were no images at all.
In addition, there is a (food) cultural difference. For example, while a Belgian chooses a sandwich, the average Frenchman spreads a piece of baguette. That's why we suggested organizing a photo shoot, although this was not originally in the budget. Madame Loïk gave us carte blanche; we rolled up our sleeves.
We came up with 15 new dishes in which the product was presented on the plate in an easily recognizable way. Since it is not well known, we did not want to hide it or over-process it. We had all these dishes validated along with a mood board for photography.
Then we scouted a photo location and chose a photographer who is also a food stylist and chef so that our dishes could be portrayed in the most appetizing way. On the shooting day, we also coordinated ourselves so we could photograph all the dishes right away. Talk about a well-filled day!
The result is a tasty series of photos that do justice to the products and in which Belgians recognize their eating habits. Think of a nice piece of farmhouse bread, a handful of shrimps or fresh strawberries from here.
These photos became the eye-catchers of an awareness campaign on Instagram and Facebook to 700,000 Belgians. In the end, we reached almost 70% of that target audience (473,076 users). We also registered 2,464,326 impressions and even 1515 clicks. Over an 8-week period, users saw the ads an average of 5 times. The CPM was also only €1.01. And all that for a budget of €2,500.
At Madame Loïk, they liked these results. So we were asked to do another shoot with an emphasis on Belgian cuisine, this time for the fall campaign. Bon appétit et à bientôt!
